Pennsylvania Horticultural Society

Philadelphia Flower Show Access Management Review

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia Flower Show, an annual tradition since 1829, relocated to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia for the 1996 show. The show faced challenges presented by the more complicated access patterns in and around the Convention Center, more limited space for staging activities on narrow city streets, and competition for parking and other services between show patrons and business concerns. The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), the producer of the Flower Show, retained CHANCE Management Advisors,Inc. (CMA) to review strategic access issues relative to the new show location and to develop Timelines for critical periods at which various planning activities had to be performed.
