Parking and Transit for an Integrated Master Plan

Clarian Health and Indiana University are implementing an Integrated Master Plan that will add more than four million square feet of patient care, research, administration, faculty and education functions to the academic and medical campuses at Indiana University—Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). CHANCE Management Advisors, Inc. (CMA) was selected to develop parking and transit alternatives to support the master plan expansion with consideration for: reducing traffic and land use effects of building more parking; improving the use of the existing and unique asset of the Peoplemover; developing transit services to promote connectivity and collaboration among staff, researchers, students and physicians at the hospitals and research facilities in the districts; and locating proximate parking to serve patients and visitors.

Hershey Medical Center

Master Plan for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Garage

Hershey, Pennsylvania

The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center retained CHANCE Management Advisors, Inc. as part of the master planning process for new facilities. CMA was engaged to review the existing Master Plan for the Hershey Medical Center with respect to previously-prepared parking demand estimates. In particular, Hershey Medical Center was seeking a validation of parking demand for the new Cancer Center and Children's Hospital and a review of site plans for a 1,300-space parking garage.

Johns Hopkins Real Estate

Parking Strategy for the Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus

Baltimore, Maryland

Johns Hopkins Real Estate (JHRE) retained CHANCE Management Advisors, Inc. (CMA) to develop a parking strategy for the Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus. CMA conducted an intensive four-day charette with key personnel of JHRE, Broadway Services, Inc. (BSI), Bayview Medical Center staff, and other representatives of Bayview organizations. During this charette, CMA reviewed existing conditions and development plans, determined areas of greatest parking demand, and developed a recommended strategy providing Bayview the parking resources needed by those institutions located on campus.

The University of Texas M.D.Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) needed to develop a parking and transportation plan that would support the Capital Planning and Management master plan guiding the addition of thousands of square feet of research and patient treatment space. Although MDACC had several parking garages, sought a qualified and experienced parking and transportation consultant to assist its Department of Parking & Transportation and its Department of Capital Planning & Management in developing a Parking & Transportation Master Plan. MDACC selected CHANCE Management Advisors, Inc. (CMA) to undertake this Master Plan.

Traffic and Wayfinding Systems Evaluation

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The wayfinding systems at the University of North Carolina Hospitals (UNCH) were confusing and detracting from the otherwise excellent services provided by this institution. Patients were already confused, and the institution had plans for many additional buildings. UNCH retained CMA to review exterior and interior wayfinding, pedestrian paths, vehicular movements at the front door of the hospital, and the allocation of spaces in two major garages.
